Student Government Association - SGA

The Student Government Association (SGA) is a group of elected student representatives who serve as the liaison between the student body and the University administration, faculty and staff. The SGA is divided into an Executive Branch, a Legislative Branch (the Student Senate) a Judicial Branch (The Chief Justice and Class Justices), and the Jaguar Activity Board.

The purpose of SGA is:
- To provide an opportunity for members of the student body to develop and maintain University programs that support their growth as scholars and leaders
- To assist in the coordination of activities and services for the benefit of the student body and the entire University
- To promote understanding and cooperation between students, faculty, staff, administration, and others
- To assist with managing student organizations, the Student Organization Council is responsible for distributing operational funds to student clubs and organizations.
