Office of Enrollment Management

The Division of Enrollment Management and Student Success on the Baton Rouge Campus is two-fold in its service to the students of Southern University. We first seek out prospective students for enrollment and implement strategies to develop programs and services that are designed to achieve the recruitment, admissions, and enrollment goals of the University. This is done through synergy among the staff in recruitment, financial aid, academic affairs, student life, finance, and other important University constituents who work collaboratively to achieve these goals. Once students are enrolled, we work to ensure their development of knowledge, sense of responsibility and self-reliance, and connection to the University and its wider community.

We also collaborate with various offices on campus to ensure student success, which involves a focus on helping our students to be engaged in meaningful learning and to achieve success throughout their entire life cycle at the institution. In essence, student success involves our efforts to reach the retention and graduation goals of the University. As our students matriculate toward graduation, we are intentional about implementing initiatives that will ensure that they are prepared to accomplish their current and future academic, financial, personal, and professional goals. These initiatives include the collaboration of support services such as academic advising, tutoring, financial aid availability, financial literacy, career preparation, and student advocacy.
