Office of Academic Affairs

The mission of Southern University and A&M College includes providing opportunities for a diverse population to achieve a high-quality education. The institution is fully accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC) and is proud of its rich heritage of producing highly qualified undergraduate and graduate students in thirty-four undergraduate programs and twenty-two graduate programs. Over ninety-six percent of all academic programs are nationally accredited by specialty area organizations.

The Academic Affairs department oversee all aspects related to academic programs and policies. Academic Affairs at Southern University and A&M College primary purpose is to ensure the quality and integrity of academic offerings while fostering a supportive learning environment for students and faculty. The Academic Affairs department manage curriculum development, accreditation processes, faculty hiring and development, academic advising, student records, academic support services, and adherence to academic regulations and standards. Additionally, the Academic Affairs department collaborates with other university departments to implement initiatives aimed at enhancing teaching and learning outcomes, promoting student success, and advancing the institution's academic mission.
