MATH 480B Math & Critical Thinking
480. MATHEMATICS AND CRITICAL
THINKING (Credit, 3 hours). The critical thinking
model of Richard Paul and others will be used
to analyze mathematics, its nature, and processes.
These include, but are not limited to, inductive
and deductive reasoning, the nature of proof,
abstraction and generalization, modeling, and
problem solving. These analyses will lead to a better
conceptual understanding of mathematics.
Prerequisite: Consent of the department.
