435. NEURAL NETWORKS (Credit, 3
Hours). This course covers the design and implementation
of neural networks. Topics include neural
networks as problem solving tools; neural networks
as self-organizing systems; single or multilayered
perceptions; associative memory networks;
techniques in neural learning, back-propagation,
supervised and unsupervised learning. Issues
related to neuro-computing hardware and neuro-
VLSI implementation will be discussed.
Prerequisite: Senior standing in CS or consent of
the instructor.
