CMPS 307B Numerical Analysis
307. NUMERICAL ANALYSIS (Credit, 3 Hours).
This course is designed to solve various numerical
problems arising in science and mathematics using
the computer. It will also provide an opportunity
to develop programming and problem skills. Topics
covered include floating point representations,
rounding and truncation of various computers,
general error analysis, loss of significance. Various
numerical algorithms will be introduced.
Prerequisites: MATH 233 and MATH 265.
