CMPS 307B Numerical Analysis

307. NUMERICAL ANALYSIS (Credit, 3 Hours). This course is designed to solve various numerical problems arising in science and mathematics using the computer. It will also provide an opportunity to develop programming and problem skills. Topics covered include floating point representations, rounding and truncation of various computers, general error analysis, loss of significance. Various numerical algorithms will be introduced. Prerequisites: MATH 233 and MATH 265.
