Music programs are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.

Mass Communications is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (AEJMC).

The Teacher Education Program is approved by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation.

Chemistry is approved by the American Chemical Society.

Social Work is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

The Division of Family and Consumer Sciences is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of the American Association and Family and Consumer Sciences. The Dietetic Internship is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

The Scientific Option and the Information Systems Option in the Department of Computer Science are accredited by the Accrediting Board for Engineering and Technology.

The School of Nursing is approved by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

The College of Business programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International.

The School of Law is approved by the American Bar Association.

The Public Administration-Generalist program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration.

The Visual Arts program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).

The Rehabilitation Counseling program is accredited by the Council of Rehabilitation Education.

The Speech-Language Pathology program is accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
