Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services

The Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services program is designed to provide students with a broad knowledge base for the rehabilitation field at the baccalaureate level. The program of study prepares students for entry level positions working with people with disabilities in a variety of settings, including, but not limited to: vocational rehabilitation agencies, community rehabilitation programs, state and local government offices, insurance and risk management companies, independent living and case management agencies, K-12 and higher education, substance abuse and mental health agencies, other health and human services agencies, as well as in private rehabilitation positions. The undergraduate program in Rehabilitation Services was previously accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Education Inc. (CORE). CORE recently merged with CACREP, and no longer accredits undergraduate programs. The Rehabilitation Services program has since submitted an application for accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The application is currently under review. CAAHEP is an agency of accreditation for the accredits postsecondary education programs in 28 health science fields. A not-for-profit organization, CAAHEP is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Degree Requirements

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services program must satisfactorily complete the 120 hour program of study which meets the requirements of the University and the department.
