200. SOCIAL WORK AS A PROFESSION
(Credit, 3 hours). This course is an in-depth study
of social work as a profession within the field of
social welfare. It gives a historical perspective of
social welfare and social work. A survey approach
is used to examine the present-day structure and
functions of the major fields of social work practice,
as well as social work knowledge, values, and
skills. Prerequisite: SOCW 198 or currently
enrolled in SOCW 198.
