CRJU 211B Applied Criminology Theory

211. APPLIED CRIMINOLOGY THEORY (Credit, 3 hours). Students will be presented an overview of the numerous schools of thought throughout history including those from psychology, sociology, biology, bio-social theory, and others in explaining pathology, causation-correlation, criminalization, and social control. Also covered will be the measurement of crime, criminal behavior patterns, alternative explanations of crime, types of crime and a criminological application to components of the criminal justice system and private sector. Prerequisite: SCJU 101B CRJU 201B.
