AGSC 310B Introduction to Biotechnology

INTRODUCTION TO BIOTECHNOLOGY (3 Credit Hours). The course introduces both the principles and applications of biotechnology in plants, animals and microbes. Basic concepts and applications in biotechnology such as advances in medicine, agriculture,forensics and other fields will be explored. Careers and oppportunities, as well as public perception and ethical issues in biotechnology, will also be discussed. The course is inteded for students interested in pursuing a career in biotechnology research laboratories.
