PPOL 780B Critical Development Policy
PPOL 780. CRITICAL DEVELOPMENT THEORY. (Credit, 3 hours). This course will examine the theories and issues surrounding development in the developing areas of the world. The course will deal with the multi-diminishing aspects of development issues. Several development paradigms will be discussed and examined with respect to their influence on the globalization that is occurring in the world. Technical, environmental, social, economic, and political dimensions of development will be addressed. The course will explore the contributions of development crisis and post-independence policy failure to external
dependency. (Prerequisites: None.)
