SPAN 360B Afro-Latino Hist & Culture
360. AFRO-LATINO HISTORY AND
CULTURE. Prerequisite: None. This course will
be taught in English, may serve as a Spanish
elective for Spanish majors and minors, and
may also serve as a Humanities elective for students
university-wide. The general aims of the
course are to identify and implement instructional
strategies and materials that focus on students¿
understanding and appreciation of the
diverse cultural groups in a pluralistic society.
The specific aim of the course is to provide an
overview of Latin American culture and civilization
with particular emphasis on the historical
and cultural conditions and contributions of
the descendants of Africans in Latin America.
