ECON 320B Labor Economics
320. LABOR AND HUMAN RESOURCE ECONOMICS
(Credit, 3 hours). Course provides
current information regarding labor market
theory and practice. Initial objective of course
is to construct a detailed demand and supply
model of the competitive labor market.
Relationship between earnings and education
developed within the human capital framework
using investment theory. Additional
issues analyzed in course include: worker
mobility, productivity, gender, race, and ethnicity,
unions and collective bargaining, earnings
inequality, unemployment, inflation and
international labor related issues. Prerequisite:
ECON 210.
