340. MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCIAL STUDIES
METHODS (Credit, 3 hours). This course is
designed to help middle school level teacher candidates
understand the major concepts, principles,
theories, standards and research related to middle
school level social studies, and provide opportunities
for them to apply this knowledge in practice
teaching episodes. This course will incorporate the
thematic, programmatic, and disciplinary standards
developed by the National Council for the
Social Studies (NCSS) and the National Middle
School Association (NMSA).
