COUN 508B Substance Abuse Counseling

COUN 508. SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELING (Credit, 3 hours). This course will provide the information and skills necessary to diagnose, refer, and treat substance abusers and their families. Topics to be covered will include the addiction process; the disease concept of alcoholism; family dynamics; diagnosis; treatment plans and modalities; and special populations.
