MATH 501B History of Mathematics
MATH 501. HISTORY OF MATHEMATICS (Credit, 3 hours). This course traces the historical evolution of key concepts in the following stands: number and numeration, number theory, computation, algebra, geometry, calculus, and probability and statistics. The emphasis is placed on the processes used by mathematicians, the nature of mathematics, and the modern K-14 curriculum as the culmination of the evolution of the concepts in history.
