ENTX ENTX 742B Environmental Regulations

ENTX 742 ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS (Credit, 3 hours). The course includes discussion of various regulations that govern the manufacture and distribution of a wide variety of chemicals. Special emphasis is placed on toxic chemicals, as defined by the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Toxic Substance Control Act, Resource Conservation Recovery Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act. Other nonregulatory agencies are discussed, including the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, the National Cancer Institute, and the National Toxicology Program. Federal guidelines for the control of fugitive emissions, incinerators, boilers, and stacks are also discussed.
