UFOR 738B Urban Plant Pathology

738. URBAN PLANT PATHOLOGY (4 Credit Hours). This course will cover basic concepts and terminology in plant pathology, describe the major pathogen groups and abiotic tactors causing plant diseases, and examines the ecological, physiological and genetic plant-pathogen interactions. Understanding the specific signs and symptons caused by different plant diseases, in addition to disease cycles, proper diagnoses and management will provide students with important tools when confronted with real life problems in the field. Plant diseases of forest trees and ornamentals will be discussed in depth using examples from Louisiana. The text books are not required but readings are recommended before each class.
