PADM 621B Conflict Mediation

PADM 621. CONFLICT MEDIATION. This course is about dispute resolution using the mediation process. Mediation is a process in which an impartially trained third party assists people in conflict to resolve a dispute through mutual negotiation. Both organizations and individuals across the country find mediation a vital tool for handling organizational and interpersonal conflicts. This course provides a step-by-step approach to the mediation process. Important concepts useful for analyzing conflicts, designing, and implementing intervention strategies for dispute resolutions are presented. The course includes a minimum of six mediation simulations (role playing) conducted under the supervision of trained coaches.
