"221. ADOLESCENT PSYCHOLOGY (Credit, 3 hours).

An in-depth examination of adolescent development from biological, cognitive, social, emotional, and cultural perspectives. The course explores major theories and empirical research related to physical maturation, brain and cognitive development, identity formation, personality, gender and sexuality, moral development, values, achievement motivation, career development, and mental health during adolescence. Emphasis is placed on understanding the influence of family, peers, schools, communities, and culture on adolescent development, as well as contemporary issues and challenges affecting adolescents across diverse populations.
