CRIR 462B Elementary Residency II

462.ELEMENTARY RESIDENCY II (Credit, 0-12 hours). Elementary Residency II is the second semester of the year-long teacher residency experience, focusing on the progressive development of teacher candidates as independent, reflective practitioners. Building on the foundational skills from Elementary Residency I, candidates will assume greater responsibility for planning, teaching, and assessment in elementary classrooms under the guidance of mentor teachers. Emphasis is placed on differentiated instruction, culturally sustaining pedagogy, and data-driven decision-making to meet the needs of all learners. Candidates will demonstrate proficiency in managing a classroom, delivering standards-based instruction, and integrating feedback to improve teaching practices. This residency serves as the culminating field experience in preparation for certification and a career in teaching.
