418. SELF DETERMINATION AND TRANSITION FOR DIVERSE LEARNERS (Credit, 3
hours). This course prepares pre-service teachers with foundational knowledge and instructional methods for supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities in the transition process from school to post-school life. It emphasizes assessment of transition needs, development of individualized transition plans (ITPs), collaboration with families and agencies, and linking academic instruction to postsecondary goals. 20 hours field experience is required.
