SMAT 211B Analytic Geometry and Calculus I
[LCCN: CMAT 2114, Calculus I: 4 credit hours] The first course of a three-course sequence. The concept of a limit is introduced, and it is used to develop the concepts of continuity and the derivative. These are studied from a symbolic, graphic, and numeric perspective for a wide variety of basic functions and combinations thereof. Applications are included.

Grades of "C" or better in
SMAT 121B (MATH 135) and
SMAT 122B (MATH 140) or
SMAT 123B (MATH 160) or the designated placement test score.
