PHYS 262B Electronics for Scientists
This course introduces students to analog electronic concepts, components and devices, dc and ac circuits and time dependent signals. Ohmic and non-Ohmic devices are investigated. The course is heavily “hands-on”, laboratory project oriented, with lectures to complement the laboratory exercises. In the laboratory component, students set-up electronic circuits, use laboratory equipment to measure parameter values and to observe behaviors of electronic devices. Additionally, the lab provides opportunities to learn important techniques, such as soldering and reading circuit diagrams.
