214. COMPUTER LITERACY FOR TEACHERS (Credit, 3 hours). This course explores the integration of assistive and instructional technologies to enhance teaching and learning in diverse classrooms, including those serving students with disabilities and English learners. Emphasis is placed on selecting, implementing, and evaluating technology tools that support accessibility, differentiated instruction, and inclusive practices. Students will gain hands-on experience with technologies such as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, learning management systems, and digital tools that promote engagement, collaboration, and academic success. The course also addresses ethical considerations, universal design for learning (UDL), and aligning technology use with educational standards to meet the needs of all learners.
