The Department of Chemical Engineering offers an undergraduate program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. The Chemical Engineering Program provides a rigorous foundation in mathematics, chemistry, physics, and engineering sciences, preparing students for professional practice and advanced study. The curriculum emphasizes the application of differential equations, statistics, and core scientific principles to the design, analysis, and control of chemical and biochemical processes, including consideration of process safety and hazards. Students develop the ability to solve complex engineering problems, apply engineering design to meet societal needs, and evaluate solutions within ethical, environmental, economic, and global contexts. The program strengthens written and oral communication skills, teamwork, and leadership through collaborative projects and laboratory experiences. Students gain hands-on experience in experimentation, data analysis, and engineering judgment, while cultivating lifelong learning skills. Co-op and internship opportunities reinforce classroom learning. Student achievement is supported through integrated formative and summative assessments across the curriculum.
